Tools To Build Your Personal Brand

Time. There is never enough of it. Amiright?

When I talk to clients about personal branding, they admit they don’t have the time to keep up with it. However, we should make it a priority because it is important. And if you dedicated ONE hour on a Sunday to plan things out for the week—you would be set!

One of my goals is to help clients find time in their week to build their personal brand. I think we all look for ways to make what we do more efficient. I highly recommend Amy Porterfield's Online Marketing Made Easy episode featuring Michael Hyatt where they talk about creating your ideal week to be more productive.

However, there are also tools you can use that can make it easier to maintain and build your personal brand. Check out a few select tools below:

TRELLO
I don't know about you, but I love a great organized To Do list. Trello is a great project management organization tool. You can create boards for various topics and create tasks under each with due dates + much more.

Podcast Recommendations: Business Advice, Wellness Tips and Inspiring Stories

With my new commute to work over the past year, I spend about 2 hours a day in the car. Podcasts have become my best friend. It has turned my commute into cherished time in which I can reflect, learn and be inspired. Here are just a few of the podcasts that have moved me to grow.

Mentoring Moments
We were turned onto this podcast by a colleague and fell in love with it. It is a great podcast to hear stories from women in business and all the twists and turns they took to "make it." Forbes contributor, author and entrepreneur Denise Restauri, invites you into her NYC apartment to tap into her conversations with successful women who are sharing vulnerable moments. From high points, to when good ideas go bad, to moments of sudden insight when you just know you have to risk it all. The podcast is no longer active, but you can still go through and listen to the archive of episodes.

Super Soul Conversations
What can I say? I love Oprah. I have been a big fan of Super Soul Sundays for a long time, so when they turned it into a podcast, it was even better. You hear Oprah’s personal selection of her interviews with thought-leaders, best-selling authors, spiritual luminaries, as well as health and wellness experts. All designed to light you up, guide you through life’s big questions and help bring you one step closer to your best self.

Skimm'd From The Couch
The wildly popular, theSkimm, just launched their weekly podcast and it has become an instant favorite of mine. theSkimm's co-founders and co-CEOs, Carly Zakin and Danielle Weisberg, started their company from a couch. Now they’re bringing it back to one, and inviting powerful female leaders to sit down and chat about everything from celebrating career wins to the worst advice they've ever received.

Marie Forleo Podcast
Marie Forleo has a piece of content for just about anything you need advice or guidance on. I have tuned into MarieTV and now with the podcast, I can listen to it on the go. Marie and her guests share actionable strategies for greater happiness, success, motivation, creativity, productivity, love, health, contribution and fulfillment — often with a lot of laughs. From business, marketing and career advice, to tackling failure, disappointment and fear, to philanthropy and doing our part to make the world a more loving, just and equitable place — they cover it all.

Storycorps
I have been a huge fan of Storycorps for years. I fell in love after seeing this animated video of the story of "Danny & Annie" an elderly couple reflecting back on their life and relationship. It is unbelievably heartwarming and reminds me of the power of storytelling and why we need to listen. Storycorps highlights stories of the heart. They are candid, unscripted conversations between two people about what's really important in life: love, loss, family, friendship.

Inspired Workspaces

The environment around you plays a big part in contributing to your everyday success and motivation. It is important that you surround yourself with an inspired space that fuels your creativity, motivation and happiness. It is the little things that you add to your office or space, that can make a big difference.

We each have varied workspaces, but here are a few ideas to get you started:

  1. Plants—This is always great way to add some color and bring some life to your space.
  2. Motivational messages—My personal favorite is a desk calendar that has an inspirational message each day. This could also be a framed quote on your wall.
  3. Offices supplies—I don't know about you, but having a great pen, notebook, planner or desktop calendar really gets me excited.
  4. Wall decor—Whichever wall your desk faces, make sure you have something in your sightline that brings you good energy. For me, I am a visual person, so I have a wall calendar with dates for the next three months. Or for you, it could be a great piece of art.

These are just a few simple ways to create a more inspired workspace! Take a look at our Office Space Pinterest board below for some additional inspiration. Make sure to follow Be Digable on Pinterest as well for some more great resources.

How to Organize Your Instagram Collections

With how quickly social media changes, it can be hard to keep up with all the new features! I mean, it seems like Instagram is rolling out a new feature every other week. Not only is it difficult to keep up, but then learning how to use the feature so that it would be useful to you is another challenge.

With more and more of my time being spent on Instagram, over other social channels, I noticed I was using the “Save” feature a lot. I would save recipes, clothes I wanted to buy, funny posts or inspirational quotes. "Save" button outlined in red below.

Therefore, I started utilizing the Instagram Collection feature. It has been super helpful because it is much easier for me to find things I saved, rather than scrolling through the sea of posts. Here are some tips and ideas of how you can organize your Instagram Collections!

  1. Think of the types of posts that you save the most or would like to save. For example, recipes, fashion, home decor, vacation ideas, beauty tips, etc.
  2. Go through your saved posts (if you have any) and start to organize or try saving one post to see how it works. You will hold down the ‘Save’ button on an Instagram post, which will prompt you to create a folder or add to an existing folder.
  3. Continue to add posts to your collections and create new collections! Whenever you want to access your folders, go to your Instagram Profile and click the tab on the far right with the “Save” button.
